The Harbour

Down that slope to where the tall ships rest
Masts reaching up to the sky
The little pier, the stony shore
Truly a feast for the eyes
Walk down further to those ships
And take in the stunning view
A lovely place to sit a while
Looking out over water blue
Gentle waves caress the shore
Such a soothing sound
Lifting up the little boats
That are resting on the ground
Little buildings, quaint and quirky
Looking over the shore
Rusty handles, flaking paint
Echoes of days before
Looking back up that gentle slope
The tall ships fill the view
A splendid place to spend a while
Memories for me and you
